What comic strips does he draw? Below, I've divided up the Q and A for my three main strips: Deep Cover, and Subconscious Comics. Are there any regular characters in Deep Cover? Not to date. Certain characters, however, keep turning up; to me, each represents something fundamental to our culture. Nina is a big-nosed, black-haired idealist who turns up every time I need to personify righteous common sense. Carl (he of the truncated cone head) is my common man, warts and all. My capitalist pig always ends up looking like the Monopoly guy on steroids, but I've never given him a name. Why do you hate America? America is an especially cool place for having popularized the supremacy of the common man and codifying all his rights. I'm proud to be a part of that. I don't think of Americans as particularly wonderful compared to other humans, however. Luckier, maybe, but not better. We're all Earthlings on this bus. Why isn't Deep Cover more balanced and fair? I'll cop to the lack of balance; I try to be on the other side of the abuse of power and jive sentimentality no matter where it originates. Given that, I do my best to be fair. That does not, however, mean I have to be polite. |
